Anyone put on an aftermarket transmission pan 96 2dr 4x4
Do not ask but I messed up my tranny pan, I purchased a B&M chrome pan that holds an extra 2 quarts to put on. The filter extension tube does not seem to fit well and I cannot get the filter on. Anyone have experience with aftermarket pans ?

Well sometimes that stuff is not a very good deal.
Does it call for a special transmission filter? I would be carefull about using a filter tube extension. If you can not get the proper filter with the neck made on it. And you still want chrome just have the OEM pan cromed. MT

Re: Anyone put on an aftermarket transmission pan 96 2dr 4x4
Well I messed up the original pan by putting a drain plug in the wrong place, filter was not on when I looked for a spot to drill a hole, so duh here is a good spot lots of room !! Well went to put it together and drain plug hits filter leaving about a 1/2" gap between pan and trans. The chrome B&M pan was $45, I could not find a junk yard that would sell just the pan, local dealer wants $ 165 and 10 days to get, speed shop said the pan will work, going back tonight to see whats up. Original pan is stamped alumimum and I suck at welding aluminum, maybe I will take it somewhere to get the hole welded up.
