2005 Envoy V8- How to get ecu codes????

I have 2005 Envoy V8. A check engine light came on today. Is there a way to read or get ecu codes without an OBD reader. Also, how to reset the light.
Any info will be appreciated..

Regards

You need an obd11 scanner and then diagnose the problem, not just reset the cel. Should be under warranty for this.

Re: 2005 Envoy V8- How to get ecu codes????

Thanks maxwedge for the reply. The car still under warrenty, i just wanted to find out the codes before taking the car to the dealer. I thought there would be an On Off On Off for the key to get the codes out before reseting. It would be just for future reference.

Regards

Dodge is the only one that will display the trouble codes by cycling the key 3 times. If you want to check the codes your self you can pick up a code reader from an auto parts store, the basic one runs between 80 and 90 dollars.
