Unhappy 92 s10 cuts out while driving

my 92 s10 4.3l started to cut out while driving. All I have to do is restart, but it seems to start out right away doing it. Whats up?

Give us more information. Does it do this more when hot? Cold? How does it idle? How does it run in general? Have you taken it to Autozone or any other garage to check for codes? If so, what were the codes? Have you done any work to this truck? Will it start right back up after stalling out, or do you have to wait?

Unhappy Re: 92 s10 cuts out while driving

It has been runnning a little rough for some time but as far as cutting out, it seems to be more at first. when I first drive it. I have taken it to a parts store and they said they sell many chips that get placed in the distributor for that reason. ($30.00)

First of all, I'd stop throwing my money away because some parts counter guys is feeding me statistics.

Second, you might try starting with a basic tune-up including wires, cap, rotor, and plugs. Look to see if the coil end of the coil wire is burnt just where the wire pokes out of the rubber boot.
