Fujimi: New Subaru Imprezas

Well...Something is amiss. Tamiya has started to make less and less kits, with less and less detail. Fujimi, has decided to make hott and current cars, with...GREAT detail.

Body The STI is molded in a metallic blue, with the front and rear bumpers, side skirts, wing, difuser, scoop, and side vents molded as seperate pieces.

Chassis Sooooooooooooo many parts!!! Makes the Tamiya version look...well..like a Fujimi kit!
Interior The interior..mmm....builds up from the floorpan, rear seat molded in place, seperate door panels with the actuall different padding and this and that molded seperately. The front seat have TEXTURE!!!!!!!!!! Ahhh!!!!!!

Wheels Still too small
Glass Frosted!!! And defroster lines.

This kit has me soooo excited!!!! Not only did Fujimi decide to start making kits the right way, they are doing it for a Suby!!!!! Yay!!! But aside from my biasedness, this is really great news from Fujimi. Now that they have shown their potential. There are so many new kits they should be able to make like this now.

The question is wether or not they will make these kits, or if they'll realize like Tamiya that the real money is in prebuilts and diecasts. We'll see....

But the new Sti does look good, doesn't it?

Re: Fujimi: New Subaru Imprezas

When I received my kit, I instantly thought that some Tamiya employees have defected to Fujimi (either that or Fujimi have noticed that Tamiya are cutting corners and have decided to adopt their ideas and boost sales ). I will take my hat off to Fujimi for producing a kit of the new Scoob, as well as different variants of the Evo 8 & 9.

At the moment, all they need to topple Tamiya is to make bigger wheels and have Cartograf print their decals.

I just have a thought...

May be the reason why this is so small is because Fujimi wants you to buy their tire and wheel sets and make more $$??

Re: Fujimi: New Subaru Imprezas

that's a lot of detail! nice!

i do hate the fujimi evos though. aside from the usual decals and maybe the one-off GT-wing, they all have little detail in terms of suspension, cockpit, underbody.

and yet i have a lot of em. evo fanatic i sure am.
