Its finally running right after.......

Where do i start i guess!! Bought the 95 cavy for 300.00, thought it was a good deal, ended up doing all the following:
pulled engine and trans, head gasket, head shaved .006, water pump, turned flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, slave cylinder, front pads and rotors, blower motor regulator, new gas tank and sending unit, #2 injector bad, new egr modulator and O2 sensor as thought they would improve mileage after all work was done. still sucked, took vehicle to a few garages, one has the OBD1 unit flashing rich/lean faster than you can sy it--saaid to take to dealer--the problem: new computer!!! [ a 225 hit on a reman unit but all in all it was 442.00 with diag too. PS: had a 10% coupon arrive in the mail just a right time for a discount!!] also EGR unit was failing but they tried to help me by plugging the rubber connector to the EGR with paper to slow the air to open unit whne it didnt need to. Went to get car and engine light off finally--went for a ride and the light came back on, went back to dealer to have diag again--egr fialed completely. went to local supply store and put in egr, cleaed computer by removing the cables and on the road again--light comes on again--went to dealer and they told me that the other mech had plugged the line with paper that i didnt know about and the mech at garage cleared out the rubber connector with a screw driver and gave me a 5/16 wrench to clear computer again--finally it works great--afetr all the work and head aches it gets 34 mpg compared to 18+- when the check engine light was on...WHEW--with the 5 speed i hope to get 35-40 on highway as i run the back roads now with this...thank you all for the help you gave me to try to do this myself but sometimes you have to go to the dealer for the big picture.. this is a great site and will visit it often to see what other problems can arise for the Chevy cavaliers others own!! Good Luck with your cars!!!
