Replacing rear glass shocks

I ordered some new shocks for the back glass in my hatch today. The little plastic buttons that hold the shocks to the glass are stripped out on the inside. They've been just dangling for about two months now. My local auto parts doesnt carry the parts..or at least I dont think they do. The lady wouldnt come outside to look at the part. How could I go about gettin these replaced? There is a dealer here but its an hour and a half away, so thats a last resort.

Re: Replacing rear glass shocks

Your looking at $25 - $50 depending on where you go to get it. As your local service rep to help you find lift supports for your car. That should get things moving in the right direction. If it doesn't help. Order it online for instore pickup. If you have a checkers, advance auto, or auto zone nearby, I know you order online with instore pickup.

Re: Replacing rear glass shocks

I just got one support in today, the lady only put an order in for one. Now I have to fork over another $30 for another support. I didnt feel Like arguing so I just forked over the cash. The people at advance like refuse to look at my car outside. They say I have to bring the part I want replaced in so the can compare it with the comp screen (the little plastic thingys that hold the glass to the strut) because they have SO much going on...the only other sale was when my girlfriend bought a pack of gum behind me, I think they could have spared the two minutes to come look at my car

Re: Replacing rear glass shocks

if you have a way to use a credit card I would order it online for in store pickup. Screw the service people. This way you know you'll get it.

Re: Replacing rear glass shocks

Do you need the whole assembally or just the part that attaches to the glass?
Here's the LINK for the whole assembally.

Re: Replacing rear glass shocks

I've got those. There are plastic studs that snap through holes in the back glass. These are threaded on the inside and hold the shock. Mine are stripped out on the inside. Check the circled thingies

Re: Replacing rear glass shocks

Sorry it's taken me so long to find it. You can't get those from an auto parts store. You'll need to get them from a junk yard or directly from Honda. Honda will have a book where you can point out the parts you need to them on diagrams of the car. It may be a little more expensive but it would guarantee that you would get the right piece. Do you know how to remove and replace those studs?

Re: Replacing rear glass shocks

The studs are two piece and just snap in the hole. I think you have to break the old ones to get them out
