1994-1995 540i

I am in the market for another car and was considering a higher mileage (100k+) 1994 or 1995 BMW 540i. I know that many Mercedes models don't have much trouble with this mileage and a LOT higher, but how does this BMW model cope with mileage? Is there anything I should look out for and is this car still holding up for those who have one with high miles? Thanks in advance.

Re: 1994-1995 540i

I bought a 89 535i back late last November. I bought it with 170K miles on it. The only things mechanically/electrically i've had problems with was the light shorted out (wire was frayed) and my water pump froze up. Also the Aux. fan clutch needed replacing. That has been it so far. Runs perfect. Idles right at 700 all the time. Quick and fun car. I think you have very good intentions.
