General Info Needed

Ok, so here's the deal. I just bought a 92 Paseo, they fixed it certified it and saftied i for me. The car has 240 000 KM on it. Now i know you can drive WAY past that with these cars, but I've heard the motors are kind of 'sluggish' lets say. I want to add some more HP to it and give it a little more pep. If someone would want to give me a run down of what can be done to the engine, where the parts can be bought, and for how much (in canadian if possible) that would be awesome. Mind you, before I go switching the motor, I'm gonna beef up the sound system (lol). But ya, any info would be killer and greatly appreciated.
