What kind of coolant?

Hey what kind of coolant do you guys use/recommend? I was gonna do a flush this week and throw in some Water Wetter. Car is a summer-only driver, but it will be stored in a non-heated garage in Upstate NY, so...

Re: What kind of coolant?

I prefer Prestone. It costs a little more but has always worked great for me and I've only heard good things about it.

Re: What kind of coolant?

Anything green works for me. If it is a summer car, I'd run like 30% coolant, 70% distilled water and some waterwetter (per instructions on the bottle). I think 50/50 water/coolant is too much with water wetter added. But I havn't tried waterwetter yet though, and it does depend alot on your climate/driving habits, so you may want to check out 3si real quick...because I know I've glanced over at least 50 threads on this topic over there.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.

Re: What kind of coolant?

yea, the prestone is fine. However, when you buy it, get the stuff that is pure coolant and not the mix. They are the same price, but your ending up paying for the water in one of them. Just get the pure coolant, and just poor some in, then just poor some regular water in, tap water works just fine.
