About to get a Mulsanne - what do I have to know about?
Hi,
after finally having sold my RR SC III, I`m interested in buying a Bentley Mulsanne - the reason: I want a RELIABLE daily driver. That`s why I don`t go for a Shadow. Also, I simply ADORE the powerful and yet sophisticated appearence. Am I in the wrong corner or is the Mulsanne the dependable beauty I crave for? The one I have in mind (not a specific car, all the ones I`ve seen are about that kind) has some 60 k miles on it, costs around 25.000 Dollars and has had between one and 3 owners. - Should I go for the Turbo or the conventional? I don`t care about speed but I can imagine that a fat Lady like this could need some extra stamina. But do the turbos last? - which year of make should be my choice? - I want a dependable daily-driver and I do around 15 k miles a year. Is the Mulsanne my car of choice or do you have a better option? - My old 560 SEL only needed some oil and a lot of fuel all those years and has been very durable and easy to maintain, how about the Mulsanne? - And finally: what`s the best place to look for a car like that in germany? Mobile.de and autoscout24.de don`t have a lot to offer. I know - many questions. I`m really looking forward to your answers! All the best, Tobias Ueberschaer |

the Mulsanne is a very fine car. as for where to get one, the only real way (in England at least) is to go to either a) a top car auction or b) ask a top car dealer to source one for you. As for reliability, they are reliable cars yes BUT i doubt you will ever find a car anywhere as reliable as you're old Merc.

An auction is the best place to buy for a mulsanne I guess. :jumpie: find your nearest classics auction and go bid for one!!
