OUCH ... Slave CD Player
My slave cd in my 99 silverado has begun to skip. I've tried cleaing it, but it hasn't helped. Any ideas? Can it be fixed or do I need to replace it? Where can I find a replacement.
Thanks in advance for your time, Trey PS: FYI: My slave cd player is in the floor console away from my radio. |

Re: OUCH ... Slave CD Player
The only place that I have seen the replacement for this cd player is the dealer, but I am sure that if you searched ebay you could probably find it.

Re: OUCH ... Slave CD Player
You can replace it for cheap off of ebay probably. Its not hard. I'm not sure about removing it, but its as easy is unplugging the current one, and plugging the new one up.

Re: OUCH ... Slave CD Player
If it starts to look expensive, you could easily replace it with an iPod and a harness that plugs into the radio instead if the remote CD.

Re: OUCH ... Slave CD Player
I replaced my whole stereo face with an aftermarket Sony and it looks great. It will probably cost you as much to buy the cd player from chevy as it would to buy and install a kenwood or something on your own. Ill take some pictures and throw them up here when i get off work.

Re: OUCH ... Slave CD Player
I have a 99 Silverado with a single CD player in-dash. I want to connect a 6-disc changer. Is the wiring already present under the seat or in the back of the cab?

Re: OUCH ... Slave CD Player
nah I dont think so but you can run the wiring to where you want fairly easy. All plastic in the 99's comes off pretty easy. Your best bet would be along the door on the floor plastic because it pops off pretty easy.
