parts for sale: new clutch, altezzas...

after replacing my stock clutch with a...stock clutch, i changed my mind and ordered an ACT HDSS clutch kit. so now im selling a brand new stock clutch for a 90-01 accord, or a 92-01 prelude. not quite brand new, but there are about 2000 miles are on it, most of them highway. for any comparison the stock clutch that came with the car went out on me at 101,000 miles after some abuse one night. i have a brand new throwout bearing to go with this clutch. any questions are welcome.

the altezzas i have are generation 3, for the 96-97 accord. there are two small pressure-related cracks on the passenger side pair, but people probably wont notice unless your car is in a show. i can provide pictures if you ask.

for the clutch im asking $200 OBO, and the taillights $100 OBO. the clutch cost me about 250, and once i find the receipt maybe ill post a picture of it, and the taillights were 175 i believe. OBO: make an offer!

$150 OBO on the clutch. still has only 2k highway miles on it, still comes with an unused throw-out bearing. $85 OBO on tails.

002star, yea i do! the guy backed out on me. altezzas are now down to $50 OBO (thats gen 3, aka "IS300" style) im still going to ask for $150 on the clutch, as i paid $255. this includes a brand new throwout bearing.

re: in the classifieds, i posted this so long ago...i think it IS in the classifieds. i really dont remember. oops..

i burned out the old clutch and had it replaced with this one (the one i'm selling). at that time the shop also charged me for resurfacing the flywheel. when i drove it home i heard some weird whiny noise coming from the clutch area, so i called them up about it, and they said "oh just wait a week and see if it goes away." reeal professional. so it didnt go away (i figured maybe it was the throwout bearing) and i went back to the shop. turns out my stock flywheel was trashed as well. the outer gear ring had popped off...maybe it was from the heat, or maybe the shop dropped it. ill never know. so the noise wasnt my throwout bearing, it was my shot flywheel scraping against the inside of my tranny. since they had the whole thing taken apart and i needed a new flywheel and i had some money laying around just asking to get spent, i ordered the ACT clutch and cm flywheel and had them put those in. and itll be a cold day in hell before i EVER go to this shop again. they charged me $300 for the labor both times, and $50 for the flywheel resurfacing which obviously didnt happen.

i wanted to take them to court but i didnt have enough time to arrange anything. i guess i could still try to do it now? but its been a year... eh.

come to think of it, i bet the clutch only has closer to 1k miles on it. i only had it in the car for a little over a week..

The clutch is fine then nothing wrong. i'm still thinking if i want to buy it our not. I don't want to buy it then figure out that i can't chabged the stupid thing in then relize that i wasted all that cash. Give me another week to talk about and find people to help me install the clutch. WITH OUT GOING TO A SHOP! If i find people to help i might by it. Thanks for waiting

While i'm asking i'll tell yo what my car does and you tell me if it is clutch or if it is something else. When i come up to a stop sign it is hard to put in 1st. Then going down the road it almost rind in every gear, except 5th and 4th maybe. Does that sound like a bad clutch or could it be something else.

well...once you get it in gear try accelerating hard. if you notice any "slip", aka, the engine is revving higher but you can tell your car isnt accelerating at the same rate, then its definitely the clutch. what youre saying could be the synchros, but before i got a new clutch i was having the same problems with getting into gear. it took forever to get into first gear, and reverse was even worse. the new clutch helped with that too. how many miles are on your car?

Well my car has 198,000 something but i bought the car used so i don't know if that is a new clutch or if that is the orignal. The only problem it really has (i tried pin pointing everything on the way home from work) it is hard to put into first at a stop (like i said). Then when going down the road second and third are the only other one i have problems with. Now if it is the synchros how much would that be at a dealer. Thanks again talk to you later

im not really sure on the synchros, you might want to start a new thread to ask that. or search the old ones. but the new clutch took care of that problem for me, so i never had to deal with it.
