is it hard to install clutch kit??

hi guys..

my new corolla's clutch is ok so far but l can tell that l will need one soon..

the car doesnt move untill l let the clutch off all the way.. which couse bad launch. so my question is can l install a clutch kit by myself?

also sometimes my gas pedal stucks. l am pressing but it doesnt go and suddenly it goes. should l just use some oil to make it slippery or it is somethingelse?

l know toyota is different but u know, clutch is clutch also 4 cylinder engine, l got more room and l am enjoying to work on cars

thanks

Erdal

Re: is it hard to install clutch kit??

I would seriously ask these questions in the Corolla section Erdal.

They are different. FWD vs. RWD. The clutch sits between the tranny and motor. Tranny has to be at least moved outta the way, and most likely removed.

Trans definately has to come out, the only advantage with a small car like yours is it doesn't weigh as much as a rwd trans. Its pretty easy as long as you have all the tools, a floor jack, jack stands, a manual and the patience to do the job.

Re: is it hard to install clutch kit??

lol, do not try to replace the clutch your self, if you canot do plugs, i don't think you can do a clutch. And on every car you get, the worst always goes out, lol. How do you know it is even the clutch? it could be the clutch master cylender or know as slave cylender.try to bleed it first.

Re: is it hard to install clutch kit??

ok..

here is my question.. years l drove manual transmission.. first time in my life l drove auto was my formula.. and all the manuals l drove, as soon as l let the clutch of like 15% or half way, the car starts to move.. but on my corolla, l let the clutch of almost all the way, the car doesnt move, l have to take my foot off the cluth then the car moves and this gives me a crappy launch.. shakes the car. what could it be?

also l didnt even try to replace the spark plugs and wires.. maybe l could, maybe now.. l dont know..

l need to fix that damn clutch somehow.. l wanna drive a normal car anymore guys..

thanks..

Erdal

Re: is it hard to install clutch kit??

did you check the blinker fluid? lol, any ways put the car in first and get up to a high rpm in first and dump the clutch in the last gear and if it starts to slip the clutch is going out.

If it because it will not bark the tires . GET USED TO IT . You got 33% of the muscle you were used to . Its not the clutch, its the car . It is a TOY , gas sipping is what its good for . Easy clutch is what they put in them . They all have soft clutches . Rob
