1983 Trans Am

A guy is lookin to sell an 83 Trans Am for about 5 bills. Says it needs a new tranny though. What do you think? Grab or Pass?

Also if someone could give me a resource where I could find out more about the Trans Am series of cars that would be greatly appreciated as well

Re: 1983 Trans Am

I would grab it, but then, it's because I could use a parts car for my 83 T/A. I build tranny's also so that would not be a problem. It depends on how much you're willing to put into it. The tranny could set you back $1000-$1500.

Re: 1983 Trans Am

I would pick it up if the interior wasn't trashed and the body wasn't rusted out. Otherwise you'll end up spending a lot of money just to get it on the road. However, if it needs some work but isnt trashed its worth some money right there. These cars are going up in value especially since they discontinued the firebird pretty much indefinitely.

Hm, well much thanks for the info. I'll give it a good look before any money changes hands.
