Monsoon Stereo Replacement

I have a 2001 Pontiac Grand AM GT1 with the 3.4L V6 Ram Air. It has about 71,000 mi. My rear speakers sound great but they rattle. My dad is in the music business and says that they are not blown because if they were blown the sound would either break up, not come out, or sound distorted. They arent doing any of that, just rattling. I'm wondering how to take them out or tighten them... maybe the grilles just need to be tightened?

Also, off subject... my car has problems starting when the engine is warm. If the engine is cold (like when you go out and start it for the first time in the morning) it will start right up. Other times (usually about 5-30 minutes after the engine was shut off) the engine will crank and sputter for a while and then turn over. It has never stalled once it turnes over and after it is started, there is no sputtering or hesitating whatsoever. I have heard that it could be anything from a fuel filter to a fuel pump to a thermostat issue. I dont think it is a fuel filter or a fuel pump, however, because during normal driving, it doesnt hesitate.

If anyone knows anything about these 2 issues, I would really appreciate the information.

Re: Monsoon Stereo Replacement

the speaker grills just snap on with clips and they do sometimes rattle. May be one of the cheap clips holding them are loose or broken.
You can access the speakers from inside the trunk, they too are just held in place with plastic clips.

As fars as not turning over when hot, check the battery cables at the battery and down on your starter. Make sure they are clean and tight.
But it very well could also be a sign that your crank positon sensor is going out. its on teh driverside of teh engine, down behind the harmonic balancer.
