Rodeo LS Heavy Duty Shocks

Trying to find some heavy duty shocks for my 99' Rodeo LS. I put a set of Gabriel shocks on in December and the ride was horrible within a day. Went with a set of Monroe sensatracks a couple of weeks ago and for the first day it was like riding on a cloud, then the next day it was like there were no shocks on it at all and a good strong wind throws me all over the road. I and 3 mechanics have checked everything suspension wise and my last resort is heavy duty shocks. I am thinking of getting a set of Bilsteins. Has anyone used these and can offer some input and how these compare to OEM? I know this will make the ride a bit stiffer which I'm fine with that as long as I don't have to feel like I'm driving over gravel and keep avoiding speed bumps.
Thanks
