Thumbs up 5.0 vs 5.0

i'm crusing home on the freeway, when I see an early 90's foxbody gt buz by, well,I decide what the hell and fly up on him (100mph). Crusing behind him, I'm still in overdrive and flash my brights...to my suprise he flashes his emergencys and takes off, I follow, not having to really putmuch into it (all my power ison the freeway speeds, not take off...yet) were both riping through the freeway at over 120 (spedo peged). It was nuts, taking the curves, weaving in and out of traffic, debre from the road flying (piece of wood nailed my windshield....didnt leave a mark ) Well, Finally I get near where I need to turn off, and so I flash my brights, and he flashes his emergencys again. I had a hell of a time, it was kick ass! Not really a race, but damn fun :bandit:

And if that driver goes here, damn fine driving

Sounds like a bit of fun. I would recomend keeping those kind of speeds on the track though. So did you ever run DMC at the track yet?

i don't mean to sound like i'm going to put you down, but the t bird only came with an 85 mph speedo... i know b/c i work with one all the time...

did you swap the speedo?

also... a recommendation from my friend with the t bird is to buy some ford 3.73 gears, and you can drop 1/2 sec off your 1/4, which, with your mods, should only currently be around a low 15...
he has similar if not better mods, and runs low 15s..

lemme know...

and i'm sure you'll think this is a flame, but i'm just curious...

I can vouch for the Man.. the car's speedo goes up to 120mph and its a bone stock Dash. (as far as i can tell, he got the car from like a grandma i doubt the little old lady from pasadena swapped it... wait... i wonder if its the same little old lady from pasedena... hmmmm)

we've hit 120 in the Bird before, i think the speedo runs a little high to be honest it didnt seem like a 120, of course the engine being close to stock it was alot quieter than my Nova when it had 3.90 gears... would peak out at about 125mph (with old engine), but she was screamin!

As for swapping the gears to 3.73, i've said it to him before to do it cause he'll launch so much harder. But it wont help his freeway gas consuption. theres a plus and a negative to everything you do to a car.

And for the GT thing.. Im not sure either he took all the badges off the car... so i cant say. I dont remember seeing a GT badge. But then again its not my car

what i really think he should do with the Bird is give it a 12" suspension lift and put on 35" Super swampers... its not at all white trash... not at all...

well, stock it comes with a 120 spedo, the older t-birds "80's" came with regulated 85 speedos. Its gt, but lets not explain that Gears, I'm debating 3.55 or 3.73's so yes, that is a plan. :bandit:
