white face gauges

I just got my APC white face gauges. I used the tool to remove the pins. Peeled off the old face. Applied the new face and installed the pins. I'm pretty sure I got the pins back on correctly. My question is this. Even if I might be a little off with the pins, are the gauges auto correcting? I think I'm about 2.5 MPH off and the temp gauge might be off about 5 degrees + or - a degree. Just hope I'm not too far off on the gas gauge.

One other thing. If I grow tierd of the white face gauges, I'll just buy another gauge cluster off of e-bay for a back up. Found some faily cheap. If I do buy another gauge cluster, will my actual mileage should on the replacement gauge cluster or will the mileage from the donor blazer show?

Now my third question. What was the last year the Blazer had the digital dash? 94?

Re: white face gauges

I didn't think you were supposed to peel the old face off, I am pretty sure APC are just overlays. The gauges are not auto correcting, did you turn the truck on and mark the areas where the needles were? I am pretty sure the new dash will read the same mileage as the truck it was taken off of, you need to take it to the dealer and have it set to yours.

Re: white face gauges

The instructions said to peel off the old. Clean off any old glue residue. Apply new face then install needles.
Yes I did mark where the needles were. Problem is, I did it with a FAT sharpie that had a dull tip. LOL. That was the only thing I had handy.

Re: white face gauges

If you end up buying another cluster, the milage from the donor car is what you'll get.
I replaced my cluster with a salvage yard unit, and swapped the odometer wheels from my original unit to the donor unit.

Re: white face gauges

When I did my LED conversion, I also put in a cluster that has a tach in my 97 blazer. I had to pop the tach needle off. And i also poped the fuel and volts needle off b/c they were faded, and the ones in my org cluster wern't so i swaped them.,

What i did was, fill my tank up all the way full. and park it over nite, than in the morning, i turned the ke to "ON" not running, SO all the neddels will register so i know where everthing is, than i ripped the cluster out, poped in the new one W/O the clear sheild, than turned the car "on", and placed the needles in the cluster. SO i know the tank was full, So i poped the fuel needle on to full, the engine wasn't running, So the tach neddle went on "0", and so on. It was preety easy. As far as accuracy goes the way i did it. Im dead on. So i hope this may help you

BTW, Could u toss up a pic. I wouln't mind seeing them in an actual car. Ive only seen them, not installed
