someone please lend a helping hand
ok im trying to install an amp and subs in my car.
first off i have my power cord. this runs from the positive battery terminal to the 12V part of the amp. in the middle of the power cord is one of those resister things i'm not sure what it is. but its one of those cylinder shaped fuse things. sorry i'm not a pro when it comes to car audio. ok and then from the amp we have the ground wire. i have that going to the hinge of my trunk as most of my friends have done. then of course i have subwoofer outputs from my head unit and those are going into the amp. finally speaker wire connects the subs to the amp. my problem is i have all this connected, i start the car play music or whatever. but the power light does not light up on the amp nor does sound coem from the woofers. the amp fuse is fine, as is the power fuse. i can't figure out what it is! please help!

there is an additional wire you have to hook up .... it is labeled remote on the CD player and hooks to a teminal or wire on the amp labeled remote or turn-on. It's function is to turn the amp when the deck is turned on.
