I have my ac light recycle light and the rear wiper light blinking on and off. After 20 mins the are back to normal until I shut off the van and restart it again. How do I fix this?

Re: 1997 Dodge Caravan

With engine on set blower motor to high, set mode position knob to panel (i.e. full left), open all A/C outlets, set temperature to cold (both levers if so equipped). Now press the wash and rear wiper buttons on the A/C panel simultaneously for 5 seconds (until all LED's light). This should get the test started. Assorted lights on this panel will flash as different tests are run. Eventually if the tests are passed the rear wiper LED should be the only light flashing. Push the rear wiper button to exit test mode and you should be home free.

Let us know how you make out.

Push and HOLD the Wiper button until the light goes out to exit the calibration mode. (the rest of the above is correct)

If your AC does not work, or it is too cold outside, you might have to wait until it's warm, or the AC's been fixed.

Re: 1997 Dodge Caravan

My AC stopped working when I let a friend clean my engine. He used a power washer on it and I think something got disconnected. Thats what I get for not supervising him.
Thanks for your help.

Re: 1997 Dodge Caravan

I have been triing to figure out why the passanger side vents do not blow out hot air when it was selected to. When I ran the test to clear the blinking light issues the heat worked on that side, but just during the test. What is the problem with this one? I'm stumped!
