69 Judge hardtop

My soon to be wife's dad had a 69 GTO judge hardtop. It was all orginal with matching numbers. I have never seen the car and don't know what kind of condition its in. Her dad died when she was 14 and her mom sold the car to a friend of the family with the condition that my girlfriend could buy it back anytime she wanted. I was thinking about trying to buy it back and giving it to her as a wedding present being that the car meant alot to her since it was here dads pride and joy. SO I was just wondering how big of a dent this might put in my checkbook? I don't know the specifics about what it would take for me to buy it back but I would like to know the general price range they are going for these days. ANy info would be helpful.

That is a clone car.

I saw a 1969 Judge, frame up restore with documentation and all numbers matching at the Autorama show (Detroit), the owner was asking $130,000.00

Re: 69 Judge hardtop

Yup. True Judges with "papers" are going for obscene money! Don't be fooled, though. Even if it IS a true one, the restoration must be top-notch to get top money. A "salvageable" version can command around $10K. Pontiac Historic Services can supply a copy of the original build sheet, thus assuring the VIN as the car IS what it's purported to be.
