need help getting sr20det back running

this is the thing i have an sr20det s13 in my s13 chassis i did all the work myself thanks to heavythrottle.com i was ready to start the motor and the car ran for probably a minute without me pressing the gas and then it shut off i was able to start it back up with no problems but from cranking it too may times i had to give the battery a jump the cables were never really on so i took it to an auto shop to charge put it back on it was still kind of low i got another battery that was not in a car with some jumper cables first connecting the cables to the car battery then to the battery outside the car that's when i heard a zap i quickly disconnected the cables from the battery outside the car clueless what happened till i realized i hooked up the (+) and (-) cables reverse on the post( embarrassed to say) but every since then i have been able to get the car to crank over it turns but it wont start sometimes if i let it sit for a while it may sound like it sparked once but after that nothing i check the sparked plug with the screwdriver and i smell fuel in the bay area when cranking it's wrecking my brain so please somebody heeeeeellllllllppppppp!!!!!!!!!!!!

hmmm sounds like you fried either the ignitor or the ECU...it doesnt sound good but thats what happens when you cross battery cables. check all your fuses first but id bet on the worst

Sounds like the fuse links at the positive battery terminal need to be looked at. Your ECM is most likely blown though
Good luck
