I have a 1992 Ford Probe LX 3.0 V6 with manual trans.
All of a sudden I can't get into second gear. It feels like it shifts into gear but when I let the clutch out it pops out. If I hold the shift leaver it just grinds. All other gears shift fine. I don't know if this is a syncro problem or something else. Any suggestions. Thanks |

Re: manual trans problem
I would say syncro ring , other possible option is the 1rst-2nd gear shift fork , but you would habe problem shifting the 1rst gear too... maybe a little of both on the 2nd guear , worn out shift fork combined with a worn out syncro.
In any case , the tranny has to come out to fix this problem , you will see for sure when u have it opened up in fron of u. Good luck |
