V for Vendetta **SPOILERS**
I know there's another thread for this movie, but its recomending whether or not to see it. I wanted to make a discussion about it, and putting **SPOILER** up there to warn readers. (i guess if that's still not a good enough reason, mods, delete it. sorry about that)
Anyway, yes, i wanted to start a discussion on this movie, cuz its definitely one of those movies you can talk about in depth. a lot of psychology, a lot of polotics. I'll start with a small thing, i hope we can get a lot more topics in:
The Mask. Notice, they never showed V's face through the entire movie. Even when he was standing in the fire after the explosion from the detention facility, they shadowed over his face, only showing the gleam of his eyes. My friend and I talked about that, and I came to the conclusion that V himself was a symbol. He put it best himself when he said that under the mask was just a face, made of flesh, covering bone... nothing more. In a sense, its true. By revealing his face, he'd become an individual, whereas with the mask on, (even though he had an individual history), he represented revolution. He was an icon, and that is why he sent out those milions of masks in the end. Not for "his followers", he himself was just another man. It was a symbol, for the people, who were revolutionaries.
