Help

Ok so i just recently installed my MAC off road Y-pipe...It sounds pretty good at idle and anywere unde 2500 RPM. but when i hit 2500 this nasty high pitch sad to say(rice burner) sounds comes out. Now is it cause im running flowmaster or does it just have to do with the Ypipe?....Also wut can i do to change this, I was thinking of changing to Borla or put headers on?...

Another Thing is off the line my car feels alot slower..is this cause i lost back pressure by running no cats? Can i change this?

Thanks-

Re: Help

Probably lost a little down low. I wouldn't worry about that.
Longtubes would help.
Not sure about the Flowmaster. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone though.

Magnaflow catback will solve any problems.

I agree. Just swap the enitre thing and ull gain a shit load of power, even more with headers. No offense, but flowmasters rob hp instead of gain them. Swap to a magnaflow and later on add headers. (or do it when u get the catback depending on how much $ you have) your car will run and sound mean.

Re: Help

while were on this topic, y the hell are QTP y pipes so dam expensive. I mean there like a solid $350 for an ORY. Catted y pipes are $650 almost as much as headers. Can i just use the stock cats when i swap Y-pipes when adding LT's??

Re: Help

They are one of the best fitting y-pipes. Plus I am pretty sure they are stainless as well as their headers.
Most will say it is worth it...some won't.

Personally unless you have some kinda stroker/boost/insane set-up, pacesetter longtubes with pacesetter y-pipe is a great buy.

This is Kooks/QTP longtubes against my SLP longtubes.
I will say the Kooks/QTP design is superior and worth the extra money. Plus, they look great and won't ever rust. Gotta love stainless.

Those Kooks have a slightly larger pipe as well...wanted the stroker to breathe better. Probably cost me a little power down low though.

Re: Help

So u guys are sayen magnaflow is better than borla?....I have about 800 to spend so i was thinking a 3000 torque converter and borla/magnaflow....
Either that or just take off the Ypipe and try to sell it cause honestly it sounds like im running a rice burner from the inside.
