Insurance

What guy's do you pay for insurance. I now have to get off of my mom's insurance and get my own. So, this sucks. I checked out Geico, which had the lowest rating for a 6 month period and it's $1,224.00. That's a lot.. I think. I am only 18 and have had like 5 tickets in my driving record... so yeah. What do you guy's pay?

$900 a year. It helps that I am 25 and havent had any tickets or accidents in a while.

And insurace always depends on your state (or sometimes even the city), your age, your record, what you drive, etc. So many variables that no one will be able to get you an accurate amount of what you should pay other than the companys themselves.

To tell you how much difference there is a friend of mine in NYC has to pay $500 A MONTH for liability only on his 93 VR4. That means he is paying more in 2 months than I pay in a year, but I have full coverage, full tort, $250 deductible, and alot of other higher coverages.

Re: Insurance

That suck you have to pay your own now. I think my parents are paying like $1200 a year for me and I'm 18 with 4 tickets in the past year. So it may go up.

Re: Insurance

you think that $1,224.00 suck and you have four tickets. I have no tickets i'm 19 and no accidents (except for the one in my sig. but the people at the insurance company told me that it was not going to be on my record but it is) and I got a quote for my 92 SL from esurance and it was well over $3,000 for a 6 month period. But still looking for better prices because I havent passed the emissions test (AZ) and have no plates yet.

Yeah, before I had my tickets I was at about $900 when I was 14. Thats the beauty of the Midwest, you dont have to pay through the butt on everything you buy.

Re: Insurance

^ Yeah the midwest is great for that. It sucks that its cold and snowy for half the year though, but hey thats why you buy dirtbikes and snowmobiles to keep you busy when you cant keep your car clean.

Re: Insurance

^^^ Its not that bad here in Nebraska. Yeah it gets somewhat cold but I wouldn't say half the year. But you are right in the fact that there is so much off road potential for almost anything whether its a snowmobile, dirt bike, quad, etc.

Re: Insurance

Yeah I was exaggerating a little on the weather but my point was you can race dirtbikes and snowmobiles when you cant do it in your car. Looks like your bike would beat mine though

it also helps when you probably just have liability insurance, and most eveyone else on here who has quoted their insurance is quoting full coverage.

it's funny how some people are so uninformed with insurance. Like this:

"What guy's do you pay for insurance. I now have to get off of my mom's insurance and get my own. So, this sucks. I checked out Geico, which had the lowest rating for a 6 month period and it's $1,224.00. That's a lot.. I think. I am only 18 and have had like 5 tickets in my driving record... so yeah. 1224 is DIRT ASS CHEAP for being a MALE, 18, and 5 tickets. you are damn lucky you can even get insurance in the first place.
