Knock sensor code

I recently had stalling issuses with a '95 GXE when it would reach operating temperatures. I replaced the distributer and it seems to be running fine. When checking for codes I found the 34 for the knock sensor. I've reset it and it trips everytime the engine is run, but it doesn't trip the warning light on the dash (which is working). I'm wondering if it's necessary to address this or if I can let let it be. There doesn't seem to be any effect on preformance.
