The Float on my Carburetor Sticks
The Swap from the 82 straight (250) 6 with the 93 700R4 automatic trans to the 86 chevy small block from a chevy G10 Cargo Van is 90% complete
.While I dropped the exhaust nanafolds for a set of Headers and duals straight out the back. I ran out of cash dealing with the power steering assembly not wanting to agree with my Sierra C15 High 4X2. If your thinking about doing this swap don't let this scare you I drove my truck without the power steering to the chevy dealer from Midas. They showed me and sold me brackets for an 86 chevy c/k 1500 pick up to correct the problem. This will cause me to loose my A/C until I change those brackets and compressor too. Here's the Bonus Question? The Float Sticks on my Carburetor most say because the engine had been sitting for a long time. Give me a few ways to try until I can actually change out my intake and carb? ThanksDavid

Re: The Float on my Carburetor Sticks
Easy thing to do is to run a tank of gas through with a can of Marvel Mystery Oil in it. Stuff has helped with sticking internal carb parts in almost every case I've tried. Otherwise, just get a kit and spent a little time rebuilding it, not hard or expensive to do.

That Marvel Mystery Oil is the Bomb. I used it on my 88 Monte SS for something else other than the Carburetor and it cleared it right up. It is what it say it is. This time I took the advise of a elder manager at my local Advance Auto Part Store and went with the Lucas fuel treatment. And I have to admit it's a contender. I put 15 bucks in the tank with that little bottle drove for about 35 miles one way and the choke light started fading. By the time I made it home it had completely went out and the engine idle is fine. I figure from this point forward with a little care, Project 86/82 6/8 Engine swap is a success. Thanks AF
