Hello,
I have a 1995 8v MK3 GTI. For a couple of months now it's been pulling back every so often when I've been driving. Lately though it's had trouble starting and is getting much worse. Originally I thought it may be the HT leads breaking down but these have been changed along with the rotar arm and distributor cap. When the car doesn't start the coil has no volts going to it. If anyone has any suggestions I'd be really grateful. Thanks

Re: MK3 not starting
ignition switch maybe worn out. Does the chime come and go out if you wiggle the key in the switch?

Re: MK3 not starting
Mist water on the coil when the car is running, if it arcs or dies replace it.

Re: MK3 not starting
Thanx for the reply, got a feeling you could be spot-on as the problem gets worse in wet weather or after I go through a car wash. Will keep you posted after I get the coil replaced...
