2000 Grand am accelaration

I have this Pontiac Grand am 2.5L. 1st, it's sound like a truck not a car.
2nd, when I accelerate the car as a very poor acceleration and it's sound's like the motor is pouching or sucking up air. Bottom line is my car is and sound sick. Can anyone help me please?
