Yes Finally I Did It !!!!!

well tonite was the night Friday March 24th

well i was driving around because in my city there is nothing to do .. i was on mynormal drive around route which consistsof telegraph /45 and ford road 45/50 in sort of a circle .... type way after doing about 2 "laps" and driving for 20 minutes of noone to really race after ive been kinda of baiting people and messing around it starts to rain a little....

finally i make a u-turn and start going down telegraph at about 50 by this fruit market and a car blows past me and im like wtf? and am also kinda happy , by this time ive seen no competition except mustangs(driven by old rich guys/girls) and a couple other no-go'ers like that)back i speed up and am behind this gold dodge neon i say it was beteween a 95-98 or somethin just by its looks but i have no idea... its got a nasty fartcan and is pretty riced our for a domestic(sorry no pic or nothin) but i get next to him and he takes off and im thinking to myself well ill probally lose bc my car sucks but o well
by the way im driving a 94 LeBaron GTC convertible .. not slow i can say that its pretty much stock.

its slightly wet by about 9:30 which is when this happened and so he takes off at about 55 and then so do i and surpriseingly i catch up and am even in the lead for about 10 seconds at about 85 til we reach a light and im thinking yes !! now we can start of even right here ... we are now at telegraph and ford road ... i look at him and he rolls down his window and so do i .. he has a tachometer with a shift light and a few guages .. his car sounds like its turboes or something?!?!! but i have no idea about some cars and i say "is that stock" while his goofy friend is making faces and is acting like a complete idiot (i figure there in there 20's while i am only 16 and he replies "No" and i say alrite lets go and he says ok....

We take off and i get a slight lead off the start and then he pulls on me like half a car i slam down the pedal and take off and get a little bit ahead then we are about even at like 80 and then i start to gain on him a few feet and then i hit about 110 and am a little more then a 1/2 car length in between us and stop to led up and slow down then he also does too .. so i am pretty sike up and also bc his car isnt stock and i think he should be blowing me out my car is only a v6 but i have no idea about his.... he speeds past me and starts weevin traffic and i am just driving 50 i pull up to a suv next to me and look at the passenger .. she waves and im like wtf? and then im like O SHIT thats my neighbor i cant chase this guy and start speeding shey'll tell my mom and she'll KILL ME .... so i get in the far left lane and am driving normally
i get to a turn around and see that the neon is in the wide side of the turn around so i take the close lane... we wait for traffic and he takes off to the 3rd lane while i take the 1st and kinda slide a little and move into the 2nd i see he wants some more so im like alrite i blow pass him and til like 90 and let up and am like ok w.e and he turns into a napa auto parts store? and then i see some saturn right in front of me with a nasty fart can and try to bate him up we take off then slow down so its not really a race... the roads are starting to get really wet and bad so im like alrite im gonna go get some taco bell... on the way there i see this sweet green bodykit yellow fog lights car and i have no idea wat it is tho...? and its behind me so i see him goin to the turn around and follow just to check his car out bc now im curious...
i look at my rpms and they drop below the 1 and to the 0 and am like WTF>! my car turns off and im like shit i put on the flashers and turn to a side street... i wait and keep retryin and it starts back up by this time its like 9:30/10ish so i hit taco bell and go home

I am pretty happy with this night overall

bottom line: raced a gross gold neon like 2/3 times and won everytime

does anyone know why i won and if i should have bc i really dont know much about who my car can beat and all? but thanks for reading this million paragraph long story of "my first race" i am really surprised i took my car all the way to 110 ... ive only driven like 85 b4 on the highway.. mainly bc i dont like to showoff and only drive fast if i need to or in a race like this ....

If it was your run of the mill basic stock neon it is going to be slow as balls. Nice kill though, sounds fun. BTW, do you have your 3kgt yet?

I almost got into it with a Neon today....

But once the modded SRT-4 heard the car...he didn't want any.

Well hear are the numbers:
Base Neon 2400 lbs 132 hp.
V6 LeBaron 3100 lbs 141 hp.

And base on those numbers I would say that whatever mods the Neon had must have been doing nothing for it’s performance. In fact I would go so far as to say that the mods were probably making it slower then stock, of course that pretty typical of riced-out cars.

^^haha, like that little dodge would've wanted a peice of that monster. I got scared of it just at idle!!

And SB4L, nice race, of course the only thing i know about the lebaron is that George Costanza had one.

there's another model neon that has like 150 hp, 2400 lbs 150 hp, thats not bad, i think 209_srt had the 132 hp neon, when he modded it he was doing 14s

I test drove a base model Neon and talk about having no balls not to mention that it just wasn't geared to go fast at all. It is funny to see another LeBaron owner. Too bad it's a 94 GTC.

Not great for racing and not even great for regular driving. In fact it was the transmission that gave Chrysler a bad rep with transmissions. If you haven't had problems with one then you were very lucky. Then in 1994 they did away with the hardtop all together and you could only get a convertible and I hated the convertibles regardless of the year. It was a sad end to, what I felt, had been an awesome looking and performing car.

The Turbo II is rated at 174HP and 210 ft/lbs of torque. My LeBaron weighs around 2,800 pounds. The best time I managed in the 1/4 with the last GTC was 14.6 @ 98 MPH. However, it's max boost was 14 PSI while factory was supposed to be 12 PSI so the last GTC must have been a factory freak. I would guess a stock Turbo II should run close to a flat 15 seconds depending on the driver of course.

Well, is uses the same block as the Stealth/3000GT just the heads and internals are different. So I guess you could build the engine up pretty good if you wanted to? Still you have the crap tranny to deal with.
