in the 10's

im not looking to race my car. but ild like to see if there is a good way to guage what needs to be done to get a desired outcome. taking into account my previous thread ("mod list"). what do you think it would take to put me into the 13's.

to add to this, i did a really vague 1/4 mile time on the back roads near me. and i got 18 sec/ 75 mph. again this was vague... like looking at my gas milage counter and guessing... then hitting the start on my watch, and saw how fast i could go by the time it hit what i thought was 1/4 mile. one of these days im goin to actually measure it out so me and some friends can take some passes more accuratly

Re: in the 10's

5 speed, decent turbo kit (8+ psi) some sticky tires and a nice tune.. should see high 13s

Re: in the 10's

what kind of turbo would you suggest? there is gude (which im not a big fan of) , there is that one guy that altec suggests... but in not too trusting when it comes to homemade... no offence to the guy.

on another note muscle mustangs and fast ford mag has a zx5 project car and i was looking at thier #'s they arent bad.
ModificationsET/MPHStock18.52/75.00Steeda cold-air, Focus Central 65mm throttle body16.90/79.99MNitrous Express 75-shot 14.92/90.00Precision Turbo turbocharger kit14.56/93.20

im thinkin about dropping them aline to see if there are zx2 applications for the turbo.

Re: in the 10's

they ran 18's stock? shit driver or a auto SPI

(for a 5spd)
full bolt-ons and a good tune and a good driver .....high 14's
7PSI on top of that (maybe 8 or 9 with a REALLY good tune) 13's

for an auto.....full bolt-ons and good tune is only the high 15's or low 16's
turbo you'd have to fully build the motor to make it 13's

To run 10's..Esslinger ran 11.1 N/A with a FULLY built race motor, custom 6spd tranny and making the car weight like 1180 WITH driver. The car made 300+crank HP.

Re: in the 10's

i think weight and drag play a major role in why the focus ran that. the car is much heavier and is lets admit it... the car is a bubble with wheels... or in this zx5's case an oblong bubble.
