94 grand cherokee heap'um tranny trouble
my daughters 94 cherokee decided it wanted a ride on a flat bed for the second time this week. The first time out of the blue it declded it was not going anywhere in any gear while making a noise like a power steering pump out of fluid for about 10 seconds.I put a new filter and 4-5 quarts of atf in and off it went like nothing was ever wrong with it.That lasted a few days until it started doing the same thing all over again It does move about 20 feet if turn it off and let it sit for a while. My question is,is there a pump or a solenoid that is accessable without pulling the tranny that could be the cause of this problem or could something else be the culprit? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Re: 94 grand cherokee heap'um tranny trouble
That's a tough one, and weird that after you refilled it was ok for a few days. When it quit again, did you check the fluid level? If there's that big of a leak that it would empty out in a couple/few days, it's time to find where it's leaking.

Thanks for answering fredj I wish it was that easy but you know it never is.The trannyfluid is full and looks pretty good.Right now I'm wondering what flowers will look best planted in it.

I wouldn't give up on it that easy. A trans rebuild may be in your future, but after that you daughter hopefully won't have any further problems.
