removing air vents
2000 grand am gt1..... i'm trying to figure out how to remove the air vents in the car. i painted some parts such as the trim around my deck, trim around my shifter, panels on my doors, and the trim around my dashboard. i want to paint my air vents as well, but i'm not sure how to get them out and i don't want to risk breaking anything. does anyone know how to do this?? thanks

Re: removing air vents
yea Id like to know too... all I know from experience.. ripping them out isnt the best way .. they are held in by 3 clips in the vent... I ripped out the one that was already broken
and tried to use some glue so it'd actually spin ... Nope, failed.. need a new one from the dealership but I plan on a A/F Gauge so ill just move it over =p

Re: removing air vents
I had pics but I think I dumped them from the bucket...
All you need is a flashlight and a coat hanger. cut the hanger so you hav one straight piece. Bend a hook on one end and thats what you will use to unclip the three tabs inside the vent. THe flashlight will help see them more clearly. Pull the clips with the hook and gently pull the outside ring on the vent so when you unclip them they dont snap back. Its tricky, unless you hav 3-4 hands and thiers no room for that. You're lucky I'm a nice guy! this is what the inside looks like. Vent 1 Vent 2
