maybe you can help me in here

ok i use to have a GTP and it seemed like all my questions were answered the mintue after they were posted. i now have a trans am WS6 and it seems the guys in the firebird forum cant or wont answer my questions. so maybe you guys can help me here

hers the problems i have with my car that i cant get help with

~how to replace the pasenger window motor
~why would my car shift at 7200 rpms when the redline is 5500. would a shift kit have anything to do with this.
~when i press the gas hard or soft it sounds like my rear end is loose and claps when the car leans back
~replacing the intake manifold.

i know this is for grand prixs but the guys in the firebird forum cant seem to answer these questions. you guys seemed to know alot of links and alot about diffferent cars so i figured id come back

by the way i saw my old grand prix with the person i sold it to yesturday and its obvious hes beating the piss out of it. it was dirty and all 4 rims were black from brake dust.....and i jst put low brake dust pads on. you knows hes beating on that car...poor GTP

GM factory tachs are notoriously innaccurate. Unless you hear valve clatter or know what 7200 RPM's feels like and know that's what it's turning, I wouldn't worry. You could hook up an aftermarket tach and see if the two jive. The window motor is a standard GM riveted in unit. Remove the door panel, drill out the rivets, pull off the motor and replace. The new motor may come with bolts or new rivets. IF the car was abused at all (most WS-6's are), the rear end is probably shot. GM used some real brains putting their corporate 7.625" rear end behind such a powerful motor. Rear end differential problems are VERY common in 4th gen W-bodies. I've never done an intake on one of these cars, but since the motor disappears under the firewall, it can't be fun.

the tach definetly seems prety accurate. i know 7200 rpms is quite a bit. but the motor sounded like it was pushing like crazy when it shifted(going like 25mph or more. my car spun the tires like crazy. so i now its not slipping. ive heard some bad things about the rear ends in that car. im planning on putting new gear in it anyways. i think the window motor has been replaced once already becae the window motor itself its not rivited to the regulator its bolted. so im thinking its been done once before. thanks for replying
