Need help

I'm actually asking this for my brother, but I need to know a few things about a 2002 wrx. He is thinking about getting one for his college grad gift and asked me about them and I don't know very much. Is WRX a reliable car? He also asked about performance. I've heard they are smokin off the line but kind of suck balls at highway runs? I personally like them and he needs something awd so any help is appreciated, thanks.

Yes WRX's are very reliable. i havent had any problems with mine. Car runs strong and very minimal in maintanance. A wrx is just like any other car though. if you know what your doing and right combinations of parts and good tuning then yeah a wrx can be really fast. you need minimal $$$ to get quick gains. pretty much like any other turbo vehicle. They are great off the line but then again what awd vehicle is and yeah they lag a bit for highway runs but thats why there is fwd. i had to eclipses 1 awd and 1 fwd and they are totally different. Tell him to get it. he wont be disappointed at all.

Re: Need help

I know Subabrus in general are reliable so I figured it probably would be. He knows next to nothing about cars and is looking for relatively quick car that is reliable that he can drive all year long. I thought about reccomending a DSM but around here most of them are beat to a pulp so I didn't.

Re: Need help

I think a WRX fits the description well. Also with AWD they are quite a bit safer.

And yeah, they're not as good on the highway, but that's because of the tiny turbo and that the car was made for cornering.
