no tail lights!!!!!!!11

ok so i am new here, heres the problem, 1993 seirra full size extended cab, i have no tail lights, and yes i checked the blubs, 4 ways work, signal lights work, checked for a ground(direct from battery) still nothing, replaced the headlight switch and now have power at the switch,i read something about checking where the wires come thru the fire wall, but the problem is i can not find the little box( the one that used to be located just above the fuel pedal)that the wires come out of, did gm change the harness? anyways, i am sure there is a short or broken wire somewhere in the line seeing as how it fried the switch and melted the grease out of it,maybe i am overlooking something but rather than just start cutting the factory harness and bypassing the problem by running a new wire direct from the switch to the tail lights i thought i'd see if someone here can help me out. feel free to email me at [email protected] any help would be greatly accepted

Re: no tail lights!!!!!!!11

I had the same problem with my 94. I found out when the cops pulled me over at night. SAme thing signal, brake and 4ways worked but no running lights.
I found that the connector above the bumper that connects the main harness to the lights had a bad connection. I unplugged it and some water came out. I sprayed with WD 40 and reconnected and now lights work fine.
Hope this helps.....

Check your fuses, you failed to mention that. Those light are controlled by the parking lamps fuse if I remember correctly. I had a similar problem hauling a trailer and it was raining real bad. Shorted out the fuse.
