Tire Question

Has anyone out there used the Toyo Proxes T1R tire? If so what did you think of them and how did they perform?

Re: Tire Question

haha! Funny you should ask about those tires.
I just bought a GA GT with them, and I'd say they are super soft, and will peel away quickly, esspecially if its wet or any sand's on the roads, overall the suck!

+'s, They are Z rated, so I bet they are expensive, being a high speed tire. Look like they hav V-groovs for rain dispersal ....
My fronts are bald, geting ready to junk them for some triple treads, thats just my

Re: Tire Question

Well it sounds like I should thank you for your , it saved me from buying a crappy set of tires. What tire would you recommend, I don't seem to have too many choices around where I live the only brands I have found available are Toyo, Falken, Mirada, Cooper, Goodyear, and Bridgestone. Just to let you know I have a 99 Grand am gt. Thanks for the help.

Re: Tire Question

no prob.
The Toyo, Falken, Mirada are a sporty tires, usually soft and wont last long in any conditions, unless you liv in the desert :lol
Goodyear, and Bridgestone both make really good tires, but you might think they are expensive(up to 185$ each) but both of these tire comp make an all season tire with 80-90k mile warrntys.
My GA SE has had the Good Year Assurance(80k mile warnty) and they work great in the summer as well as wet/snow conditions.
around 180$ each, getting a set of 4 for my GT next week for 650$, lifetime rotate and balance(well for 80k mls)

I thought I heard Bridgestone makes a 90k mile triple tread tire too, but I havnt seen one yet. they probley run around the same price as Good years.
Think thiers some compition between tires makers

one other thing, the GT does call for a Z rated tire(look on your door), that doesnt mean you have to put them on. But the other tires are not Z rated, so I wouldnt drive over 100mph with them. remember safty first!
