'03 Accord Alignment Problems HELP!!!!

I have a 2003 Honda Accord with 24,000 miles on it. I recently found out that I had 2 nails in one of my tires, so I took it down to get patched. The tire guy told me that I would be better off getting 2 new tires, so I did. I also got an alignment done. Michelin tires came on the car when I bought it new. He was selling the Michelin tires for $170.00/tire, but he told me about Yokohama tires that are the same size for $107.00/tire. I decided to put the Yokohamas on the car. I was driving on Sunday, and I noticed my steering wheel wasn't straight. I had to turn it to the left slightly to go down the middle of the road, then I put the wheel in the middle and I immediatly drifted to the right. I brought the car back to the wheel place and they told me they aligned the vehicle correctly and it wasn't their fault. I came back this morning and talked to the manager and took him for a test drive to see the problem. He just called and said they put Michelin tires back on the car and he said that seems to fix the problem. Has anyone else had this problem with their Hondas where they have to have Michelin tires? Maybe this guy is BSing me. Any comments would help.

I hear that Honda's are factory tested with Michelin tires, but that does not mean that you have to use them. Any tires that meet the size requirement are okay. I say the particular Yokohama's that they put on might have been defective or they installed it wrong. Some tires are directional, meaning that you have to put in on a certain direction. So if they installed one side backwards, then it might cause to pull to one side. Anyways, if Michelins were fine, then you know for sure that it is not the car. HAve them install another set on Yoko's and see what happens.

Re: '03 Accord Alignment Problems HELP!!!!

You're being BS'ed. If their work doesn't fix, or if it worsens a problem, it's up to the THEM to fix it and correct the problem at THEIR own cost. Tires being used have virtually nothing to do with alignment, definitely a load of BS especially considering I've ran several different tires, as well as an altered suspension system on my car. Also not all Hondas come with Michelins on them. When I got my Civic in Dec. of '99, almost all the other Civics on the lot came with Firestones, mine came oddly with Dunlops, though they were installed at the factory just like any of the other cars there on the lot.
