first mod of the year, new shoes!

well i am keeping the cavy, not to sure what exactly im gonna do with it as far as continue modding it or not. I had my rims all together earlier this year, i had BSA 239 17X7 inch rims with ToyoProxies 4. But i didnt like them. The look wasnt me and neither was the ride quality. And the traction wasnt that great either. So i sold the rims, and they went buh bye. So im back to my stock rims, i realised i like the stock look alot more, i dont have an aftermarket look nor do i ever plan on having one. So i me some new shoes for my old rims. BFgoodrich G Force Sports. Theyve got a really good rating on tirerack.com 4th out of 46 tires. ZR rated Summer only tires. And 4 new tires shipped to my house was only 337 bucks.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....e1=yes&place=5

Also a local guy has popped up offering to do Port N Polishing for a good price, i might have that done as well.

Tires are considered a mod?

Always thought of them as something you just needed to have, whether they're cheapy every day tires, or uber gummy performance tires.

I love the Tire Rack too. They're only 10 minutes away from where I live. And they have a small track which they open up for autocross.

Re: first mod of the year, new shoes!

i consider it a mod, who doesnt. If i went to slicks it would be considered a mod? By far its one the biggest bang for your buck mods you can get. A good set of tires compared to a crappy set of tires can mean the difference of over a second in the quarter mile.

And whats wrong with calling them shoes? They are shoes for my car.

Well, nothing can change the look of a car like a nice set of wheels and tires. Also, if you get wider, and or, stickier tires you improve stopping and cornering ability. Of course it isn't always that simple but you get what I mean, so yeah, I would call them a mod as long as you aren't just putting on stock replacements.
