1997 Contour Transmission Problems
After replacing the motor I developed a new problem. The transmission will shift normally but will not go into overdrive. When the O/D switch is pushed the O/D on/off dash light will come on but nothing happens with the transmission. ( the O/D light does not flash )
When driving the car, if you accelerate hard the motor will stutter until you let off the gas. If the car is in park and the motor is reved to 3800 to 4000 rpm's the motor will stutter, but if you put it in neutral and rev it up everything is fine. The only thing I did to the transmission was replace the pan gasket and fluid. The motor runs excellent, no service codes or check lights. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi, Looks like it's time to RE CHECK and DOUBLE CHECK, All the harness connectors that you had to contend with when you changed the engine....See Ya, Clay..
