brake fluid to transmission
Hi, i accidentally put half a cup of brake fluid to my 98 accord's power steering reservior. would that cause major problem? please help!

hondas required to have their own honda power steering fluids.
i wouldn't recommend to do the draining work yourself. wait, did you put into the transmission or power steering? take it to the shop, price shopping first.

If you didn't start it, just suction out the resevoir and refill it. If you did start it, you'll need to flush it out. I'd remove the low pressure return to the pump, direct it into a bucket or pan, start it up with the cap off, and keep adding the correct fluid as the level drops in the pump. After a pint or so has run through. put it back together and refill it with new fluid. It may take some time to work all the air out, it'll growl in the meantime.
A small amount of brake fluid won't hurt it usually, brake fluid conditions rubber seals and hoses, so it's not gonna attack anything, but it's hydraulic properties are different.
