Fujimi Maranello Superamerica!

Well, you have to wonder if this will look better than the Revell kit.
I'm sure it will be a curbside. Revell's will most likely have an engine.
From HLJ.com:
FUJ12273 Maranello Super America
Running their Early bird special. I haven't looked for pictures yet. Just wanted to post an FYI.

Re: Fujimi Maranello Superamerica!

Oh my god!

I seriously am having a very hard time keeping up with Fujimi! I'm very very impressed, not just because it's a Ferrari, but also because Fujimi seem to be the only one actively making new 1/24 kits. This is just fantastic.

And boy do they have Revell beat! Revell have announced both the F430 spider and the 575 SA earlier, but apparently Fujimi will release both earlier. Especially the 575 SA - months before Revell. I can only dream Fujimi will also make a Maranello race car or several in the future.

Here's the HLJ linky.

Re: Fujimi Maranello Superamerica!

At last, Fujimi is releasing new kit.. Without them, we would be crying for something new.

Re: Fujimi Maranello Superamerica!

Does anyone out there got BOTH Revell AND Fujimi versions of the "newer" Ferraris and would care to do a side-by-side comparative review?

I think it would be pretty neat and interesting read.

Personally, because I don't follow release etc. very closely, I'm actually prety confused right now about who has what and whats in the box

Did just buy myself Fujimi 550 and 575 yesterday though
I wonder if I made the right choice...?

You've made the only choice

When it comes to new Ferrari releases, Fujimi are the only one who make:
550 Maranello
575M

Both Fujimi and Revell make or have announced:
F430 Berlinetta,
F430 Spider,
575 Superamerica.

Re: Fujimi Maranello Superamerica!

I can't wait to see how both companies deal with the Superamerica's one-piece curved glass top aka "the birdbath". I don't see how in hell they'll get a one piece clear styrene roof to make the same shape w/o either molding it in two pieces, or having a mold line running down the center of the glass. To get that part to look prototypical to the 1:1 example will not be easy.

Now more than ever I hope it's true that Fujimi employs some ex-Tamiya engineers

I would also expect by this time next year that we will have a Fujimi 599 GTB Fiorano to play with Somehow I don't think Tamiya is on the ball enough anymore to have snagged the license and to git'r done.

Sure, as soon (soon??) as my revell importer decides to bring the newest releases here.

Well, if Revell are going to be producing them at their factory here in Poland..... Remember who your friends in Poland are!

I'd really like to put the fujimi and revell F430 kits side by side and see what's what.

Re: Fujimi Maranello Superamerica!

I'm sure there will be at least one Revell F430 at NNL tomorrow, I'll see if I can't sidle on up next to one with my Fujimi and take some snaps.

Re: Fujimi Maranello Superamerica!

I ordered 1 S/A from Fujimi and one S/A from Revell. Fujimi's will be here first and then sometime in Sept. the Revell kit will be here, in the states that is.
If I ever get out of this building slump I should be able to start the Fujimi kit when it is availible.
