Low Coolant Message
Well I saw a few older posts on this subject, but not exactly what I have been having on my 99 Silverado. I get a Low Coolant Message periodically but the coolant level is always full, no leaks, never had any heater problems or odor of any kind. Has anyone had this problem with no other symptoms. I only happens every now and again an will go away for a while after a restart. It seems that when it appears it will repeat every drive cycle for about five or six times then disappear for a while.

Re: Low Coolant Message
My 99 Silverado does the same thing. I've never had any problems, but once in a while it will pop up, then just go away.

Re: Low Coolant Message
When you check the fluid level are you opening the cap or just looking at the stains on the tank????

Re: Low Coolant Message
Yeah, I open the cap. I have owned this truck since new and have added less than one gallon of coolant since new, and level is still ok.

Re: Low Coolant Message
i use to get the same thing, i dident do anything for about a year then had enough. I just added about 2 cups of water about 3 months ago and havent seen anything since. Its as simple as oatmeal....just add water.
