Help with the horn
I have a 2003 with the steering wheel controls. Compared to the previous style steering wheel/horns on the 1998-2002 C/K and Silverado, is it supposed to be hard as hell to get the horn to go off? Hitting it in the center does no good, you have to mash the upper corners (where the horn symbols are) real hard to get it to sound. That takes too long and usually by then whoever caused me to blow the horn is long gone...
I used to have a 98 C1500 and a 2000 new style Tahoe-- same steering wheel in both and it was real easy to hit the horn in those. I did it a lot. Any thoughts here? Can I just peel off the center cover? I don't want to set off the airbag here. |

Re: Help with the horn
Have you gone to the dealer and explained the safety issue that they need to fix for free???? Mine works so lightly that it goes off when I slide my hand accross it during turns sometimes.

Nope, haven't tried that angle with the dealership...it's out of warranty though (60k miles) so they'd probably just give me one of those looks!Have you had yours checked out? Seems like it might be the same issue or at least in the same ballpark. |
