94 2.2L headgasket replacement

my 94 s-10, 2.2L first had headgasket issues 6 months ago, i paid 600 bucks for a shop to replace it, it has now blown again, and from research performed at this wonderful forum i have decided to replace this one myself, any tips would be greatly appreciated!! advance thx

They probably used a low cost gasket kit, use a quality one.

Plus get the head inspected, the 2.2L head isn't well known for it's quality.

It's not a hard job, but most people take way to much off the motor making it a big job

the shop supposedly had it fluxed, i have my doubts, i was gonna follow the haynes manual which didnt seem overly complicated..b

the head needs to come off and go down to a machine shop to be checked (not fluxed, its aluminum) for cracks and strightness
