Porting?

What exactly is engine porting for the 13B? Also I've heard a couple people say, "Stack the blocks for better horsepower." What does stack the blocks mean?

Re: Porting?

engine porting is exactly what it says in its name. PORTING. port the holes bigger to allow more airflow...

stacking the blocks would be to put on more housings of the engine... im guessing. never heard of that one myself. but i know you can bolt 2 engines together...

Re: Porting?

main kinds of porting are street, half bridge, full bridge, p-port (ususally done more on intake than exhaust)

street just increases the size of the ports

half bridge makes the secondary ports into a large one

full bridge makes primary and secondary large

peripheral port relocates the port to the outside of the housing

with each step there is a very noticible increase in power but the bigger you go the less driveability you have.

this will be better explained with pics (i'll try to find some)
