01 Mustang tires question

I need to get some new tires for my 01 GT I have the stock bullitt rims 17" by 8" and I want som new tires for the car. I want a size that is kinda muscle car like, I want them to come close the the lip of the fender but I dont want them to go beyond the lip of the fender, does anyone have any size suggestions a size that looks REALLy good??

Re: 01 Mustang tires question

225 is smaller than stock which is 245. I just got on 255/45 on mine and its pretty nice. Also, i junked the stock tires for the BGF Gforce KDW's. They are much nicer in my opinion they seem to stick better and have a softer ride. I will see how they wear as time goes on.

Great tires.
I run those in 275/40/17 up front.
Be nice and they can see 20K and more.

Re: 01 Mustang tires question

Make sure that you get the same height tires for the front. Running two different height tires will set off the TCS.

245/45 in the front and 275/40 in the back will work.

Oh I can fit more, but I bought these before I had the blower on the car. I will probably be minitubbing the car soon.

Re: 01 Mustang tires question

Badass!!

My 315's just came in today. As wide as I can go without rubbing or having a bunch of tire sticking out from the car.

Track times on that beast??

Re: 01 Mustang tires question

None yet. In the middle of a rearend swap, lowering a section of the trunk floor to fit the 20gal aluminum fuel cell, trans swap, and rewiring. The guy I bought it from somehow managed to fry some wires so I bought a Painless kit I have yet to install. Also to install my MSD ignition box. I've been told by several people at TM.com that if I make 12psi with the S-trim it will lay down 600rwhp. So maybe a 9.9999999 in the quarter? lol, better atleast run decent 10's.

Very nice!!

I can't wait to be able to hook mine up at the track. Right now I am basicly kissing the 10 bolts ass.
Someday soon!
