Poll: Just a friendly question?

Should the drinking age be lowered from 21 - 18?

Fact:Only four on the entire planet have a drinking age of 21, Ukraine, South Korea, Malaysia, and the United States...

Vote & post ~

Re: Poll: Just a friendly question?

I have no opinion. I don't drink. But obviously those under 21 who want to drink, do drink. So the law isn't really stopping them. It's more of an inconvenience.

Re: Poll: Just a friendly question?

no, its simple enough kids under 21 Do enough stupid things as is. They dont need a reason to do more, canada is supposed to be raising there drinking age to 21 soon.

The only thing i think, is there should be a law. If you are in the armed services you should be allowed to drink if your under 21. If someone can go die for there country, they better be able to drink a fucking beer for it.

Re: Poll: Just a friendly question?

i think 21 is too old, but 18 is a little on the young side. maybe 19 or 20. wisconsin was one of the last states in the union to raise their drinking age. we just like our beer here. and the only reason we did raise the age is because we were threatened by the US government that if we didn't raise our drinking age to 21 like every other state, we would lose all of our highway fund money. since we don't have tolls, that would've really sucked. even tho i don't drink, i still think the age is too high. people are going to do it anyways if they really want to.

wtf no we aren't, where are you getting your info, ask a canadian for it next time.

anyways i think 21 is way too old, if it's lowered to 18 you won't have as many older people partying their asses off because they've gotten it out of their system. in canada with all the people i know, they party like mad when they become legal, then in a few years they decide to tone it down. besides i think it's rediculous that you can die for your country at 18, you can vote at 18, you can buy porn at 18 but you can't drink.

Fully agree with ya on this. La. when I lived there the drinking age was 18 and do you know how many stupid ass people would go drink it up then drive or they were always starting fights. And it was mainly the ones under 21 that did that. Right before I turned 18 they raised up to 21 due to all the problems they were having.

Heres alittle know fact for you. In La. it is perfectly legal for you to have a open container in your car as long as it is someone else holding it and not you.

Re: Poll: Just a friendly question?

POST #1000!!!!! I FINALLY BROKE INTO THE TRIPLE DIGITS!!!

I also agree that it's just an inconvenience for underage people. I've had countless opportunities to drink, although i didn't act on those because i had to drive home every time. I'm only 17 by the way.

Also I'm just saying i think it is a good thing to have it younger than 21, but not too young, i think 18 works pretty well from what i've seen in Canada, although we're nicer people :P.

Re: Poll: Just a friendly question?

Meh, the drinking age is bullshit.

I don't mean in it in the way that its a bad law, I mean that if any of you guys are still in high school, what do they do almost every weekend?

Keg parties.

Even though only 21 and up can buy, kids as young as 15 and 16 are going to parties and getting all boozed up. So lowering the drinking age won't change a damn thing.

this is most of my point...

the rest is

make it easier and for how the culture already is, 18-20 would abuse it greatly! Why? The taboo is now legal...you can do what you are not sposto and its legal.

Whereas if your gonna die for this country...you should be able to party hard before you ship out.

Re: Poll: Just a friendly question?

The only thing bout lowering it to 18 is that then it would be even easier for the 14-17 age group would find it even easier to get due there 18yr old friends being allowed to buy it.

Re: Poll: Just a friendly question?

Nope. You have to earn the right first. You have to take the chances of getting caught. Came close sevearl times, but never got an MIP. Looking back, it's more fun to sneak the alcohol around.

Re: Poll: Just a friendly question?

they can get it just as easily now as if their friends were buying the booze. honeslty i haven't found anyone of nearly any age that couldn't get alcohol if they really wanted
