Oil Stick Hard to Read!!!

I have a '99 Isuzu trooper. It uses about a quart of oil every 5 weeks. I do a lot of driving. The problem is: it's extremely hard for me to tell the oil level because the dip stick is black and the oil is dark. Is there away to lighten the dipstick so I can read it better? I've never had this problem with other vehicles I've owned.

I totally agree; my 99 Rodeo burns some oil and the geniuses at Isuzu used a dark dip stick which make it hard to read. Doesn't seem to make sense. It's near impossible to get a reading of fresh, clean oil. Older oil is easier to see, but not much. I thought about looking for a silver colored stick, but truth is, my Rodeo requires the money be spent in other areas.

The best thing to do is look in the light or shine a flashllight on the stick.
